Meet Bill Blue
Bill Blue’s dream as a child was to fish on a tuna boat. His dream was fueled every time he went fishing with his dad. For thirty three years Bill has been living his dream. Today Bill fishes the F/V Morning Light, his third boat.
When Bill came to Morro Bay he started working for his best friend’s father in law, Fred Cefalu. Fred taught Bill the fine art and hard work of crab fishing during the winter. The next summer he was borrowed by the late Al French and learned the salmon fishery.
The thing that Bill loves the most about fishing, besides the independence, the freedom to work as hard as you want too.
Now because of the new regulations that driving work ethic is being threatened as more closures have meant less time to fish. Bill is always on the look out for new fishing opportunities.
In his time on the beach Bill enjoys hunting with his two boys, golfing and his yellow labs. Bill and his wife Brita have been married ten years.
Bill and Brita’s love of yellow labs lead to another business. Brita has opened the “Animal House” on the Embarcadero in Morro Bay. At the Animal House, Brita and Bill carry a full line of pet products.
The highlights of the Blue Family was daughter Amanda’s February wedding and son Jon’s August wedding.
