Meet Ed Ewing
Ed Ewing has opinions and he doesn't mind sharing them. After 45 years of fishing, Ed or Fast Eddie as he is known around Morro Bay, knows what he is talking about. Ed is known to stand up at any meetings that involve commercial fishing and speak for fishermen everywhere.
Eddie knows first-hand the effect of too many regulations as he was put out of business when the dragging industry was banned in California. But you can't keep a good fisherman down. Recently Eddie started fishing the F/V South Bay in conjunction with The Nature Conservancy with experimental gear that is a ray of hope in the much put upon fishing industry.
Eddie has always been independent and likes his life that way. "Fishing is just what I do."
When he is not fishing, Eddie can most often be found down at Dockside Too Fish market playing his guitar with a regular group for entertainment.
