Chris Lawson

Meet Chris Lawson

When he isn't out fishing for Dungeness crab, salmon or albacore, Chris Lawson is the President of the Bodega Bay Fisherman's Marketing Association. In November of 2007, after the freighter Cosco Buson hit the Bay Bridge, Chris took the bull by the horns and worked for North Coast fishermen tirelessly with the Department of Fish and Game, the Cosco Buson and other agencies to clarify the situation and obtain settlements for fishermen.

Chris has fished for 31 years for salmon, crab albacore and herring. He got his start on the ocean by working on his family's charter boat as a kid. Like all fishermen, he hates bad weather, bad politics and over regulation. He loves the feeling of freedom that fishing allows and the feeling of working outdoors with his hands.

Chris has three children. When he is not tied up in the politics of fishing, Chris likes to hunt, fly fish and ride his motorcycle.
