Paul Pellegrini and Family

Meet Paul Pellegrini and Family

Paul Pellegrini has fished for 35 years out of Eureka California. In fact, Paul comes from a family that has fished out of Eureka for over 100 years. Fishing for salmon, albacore, ground fish and crab has enabled Paul and his wife Ronnie to raise two daughters.

Obviously family traditions got Paul started in fishing, but the challenge and pure love of what he does has kept him at it. Layer upon layer of regulations have hurt the Pellegrini family financially. Recently, in an effort to gain the public eye on the dire straits of the fishing fleet, the Pellegrini Family auctioned themselves off on Ebay.

The entire Pellegrini family is involved in their community. Paul served as past President of the Humboldt Fisherman’s Marketing Association and a Director of Western Fishboat Owner’s Association. Ronnie is 1st Division Commissioner for the Humboldt Bay Harbor District, having served since February 2001. She served at the Board of Commissioners first female President from January 2004-January 2007. She served as a delegate to Governor Schwarzenegger's Nov 2005 Trade Mission to China . The Pellegrini's sponsor a girls Hoopster's basketball team annually called "Celtic Aire Fishing." Ronnie is also member of the American Legion, Post 212, having served in the USMC. The entire family attends Coastline Foursquare Church in Eureka where their daughters are active in the youth group.

The Pellegrini family sells off their boat, the Celtic Aire. Look for them in Eureka moored at Woodley Island Marina in Eureka Dock E Slip 18.
